Happy Hippo outdoor, the wow factor is high

WHY HIPPO

We chose Hippo, or more precisely Hippopotamus, as the symbol for our products. Why? Well, hippos spend a lot of time in water, and so do our products – many of them are linked to boating and water adventures. Just like the hippo, our products are powerful, robust, and reliable. And, to be honest, it’s easy to remember an animal that’s also one of the world’s most dangerous, but we prefer to see it as strong and kind. You know, with great power comes great responsibility, right?

FROM HIPPO OUTDOOR TO... HIPPO EVERYTHING!

It all started with Hippo Outdoor, but as time went on, we realized that each product group deserved its own spotlight. So now we have Hippo Golf, Hippo Eyewear, Hippo Fishing, Hippo Tarp, and Hippo Safety – and we probably have a few more ideas up our sleeves. Everything falls under the Hippo Outdoor umbrella, run by our company, Benares AB (and yes, Benares is the name of a boat in the Tintin book *The Crab with the Golden Claws*, for those wondering).

WHAT WE THINK - SMART AND PRACTICAL

We develop outdoor products, and our goal is simple: we want to make things just a little bit better. Improving the whole world would be nice, but we’re starting with our products.

- Smarter solutions: The same thing, but just smarter.

- New solutions: The world keeps turning, and so does innovation.

- Quality: doesn’t have to break the bank, and cheap shouldn’t mean poor quality. We aim for affordability.

- New perspectives: We see things through new lenses (literally, since we sell glasses).

- Practicality: It should be easy to use.

- Efficiency: We like practical solutions that save time and energy – it's okay to be a little lazy sometimes, right?

THE FOUNDER´S STORY

It all started with a dream of turning a hobby into work. And where else but in a living room? The dream wasn’t the living room itself, but that’s where the business took off. Innovation and development are the hobbies. When you constantly see new solutions, you can either wonder why no one else is doing it, or you can get moving and try to do it yourself. That’s how Hippo was born.
