Hippo Marine’s Heavy-Duty Tarp Repair Tape is the ultimate fix for damaged tarps and outdoor covers. Made from reinforced material with industrial-grade adhesive, it seals tears and holes permanently—even in harsh marine environments. Unlike ordinary repair tape, this product is designed specifically for tarpaulins and delivers superior strength and weather resistance.
It adheres to PVC, PE, vinyl, canvas and most synthetic fabrics. Once applied, the patch becomes part of the surface, restoring the tarp’s integrity and stopping further tearing. The waterproof backing allows repairs to withstand rain, snow, UV exposure and temperature shifts.
Use it on boat tarps, pool covers, construction sheeting, camping gear and agricultural tarps. Whether you need a quick emergency patch or a long-term repair solution, this tape ensures your tarp stays functional and protected

Really nice quality product thank youUsed a piece to make the cardboard flap more durable.Might use this as very useful tape.5 out of 5 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars
My tarp was mangled enough that I just bought a new one, but I ended up using this tape anyway. We had a railing removed from the house, which left holes in the siding. I stuck some of this tape over the holes to prevent anything from getting inside. I am impressed with the stickiness, and it has held up well through cold, hot, windy, and stormy weather. Excellent product! I know it will work great when I need it for my actual tarps.
Following the instructions, I rounded the corners of the cut strip of tarp tape and applied to my worn tarps. Worked unbelievably well. So well in fact that I tried it on a recent rip in my car cover. The tarp tape repair is still holding strong over a month later under the intense heat of the Florida sun, heavy thunderstorms and strong winds. No curling at the tape edges and completely waterproof.
If you have tarps then having this repair tape is a must. I've tried other tapes including various types of duct tape and fiber reinforced tape with limited success for repairing rips or large holes in a tarp. This stuff sold by HIPPO OUTDOOR appears to be specifically designed for this purpose having good UV resistance and a fabric weave that resembles your average poly tarp material. The tape is 4" wide which is great for getting good coverage but depending on the amount of repairs needed, 16' may not go so far. I used up a whole roll to repair the frayed edge of a 10' tarp as I found it best to cover the worst tears from both sides. It's even better if you can overlap it but you can get through a whole roll very quickly doing this. The repairs are holding up very well so far under the Florida sun and heat but you do have to apply very firm pressure to every inch of the tape to ensure it bonds well and stays down. The repair area should also be very clean and dust/grease free to get the best adhesion. I wish this tape was available in white as most of my tarps are either white or silver. Time will be the true test of durability but for now, given the current price of $14.99 for a 16' roll, I'll give this 4 stars.
I have several tarps that I use to collect leaves in the fall & drag them to the curb for pickup. These tarps take quite a bit of abuse being dragged over my yard which is how they got the rips in them. So I trimmed off the loose pieces of plastic so the tape would have a better seal. My tarps have two thin layers. Some had holes all the way through while others just had one side torn. The tape was easy to cut and lay flat on the tarp. I am hopeful that my tarps will get me through many more years of leaf collecting thanks to this repair tape.
You can see on the lable this tape is 4 inches wide by 13 feet long, whereas the prodct title and description says it's 16 feet long. That's a substantial diffeence.Length aside the tape is actually really good. The adhesive sticks well and the tape is sturdy, just what's needed for repairing or reinforcing a tarp. The proct itself is great but just be aware the decitption is wrong.
While I have a tarp, it's still in a good shape. I did get this for two reasons. First, as I said, I have a tarp and it would be nice to have this on-hand for if/when it does rip. Second, I had a BBQ cover that was ripping in a few spots on top from sun damage. So, I figured I could try this out and see how well it patches it up. It works amazingly. The glue is pretty strong as once I set it, it wasn't budging without some force from myself that would probably rip the covering. The roll is a decent thickness and feels great with no funky smells. No complaints from this guy.
I found this easy to use. The shower curtain I bought was too short for my low entry shower. So I added this tape to the bottom and folded it over to cover both sides of the bottom edge of my original clear curtain. This added almost 2 extra inches plus weight and now the curtain does not fly up and allow water to flood my bathroom floor. Excellent product.
This stuff was actually sturdier than the tarp I was trying to patch.
Yes this tape works! However there are conflicts with the length of the roll. The web page says it's 16 feet, the specs say it's 16 feet, the explanation and photo's showing what its good for also show a photo saying it's 16 feet. Now the roll say's it's 13 feet, the picture of the roll say's 13 feet.So what is it?
Permanent solution. It will not come off so better apply it correctly.
Strong waterproof tape - color of water. Easy to apply.
bon produit pour les toile de camion
Used it to patch bottom of pontoon boat cover that had gotten scuffed and ripped by scraping dock. Will probably allow me to avoid buying a new $1,200 cover for another few years.
Repaired my boat tarp for wintwr.
Did the job- 1-2 months in still holding the pool cover together
Due to the sturdiness and stickyness of the tape, have been able to repair a few things. Wear from sun on our chaise lounger, top edge of inversion table, etc....
This tarp tape seems to be pretty well made. It's almost the same thickness of the average tarp. The adhesion is strong. I've mended covers, tarps, cushions etc and it's holding up quite well. Great idea that translated to a good product!
Heavy duty repair tape. Does a good job of repairing any rips or frayed pieces on a tarp. Adhesive does a good job of staying and holding like it should.
I hadn't even known this product existed, but it's fantastic. I have some old tarps with holes and rips in them, and I was able to use this to fix it--cut it to size, round the corners, remove the backing (like a sticker or a band-aid), and then apply it. It recommends letting it cure for at least 1-2 hours (24 is best), and then using. It's super easy to apply and I love that the "tape" is every bit as strong as the original. It can also be used to preventively protect areas that are more prone to wearing
Great tape. Works great, has great adhesion
We have one of those outdoor gazebos with the nylon fabric sides and roof - a bad windstorm killed a few of the sides with branches that hit against it - this helped me greatly prolong the tent use as I can now patch the sides with the holes.Overall very happy!
We have tarps that are used to cover tractors and yard equipment during the fall and winter, and they take quite a beating with the wind, rain and snow. The tarp repair tape will allow longer use of the tarps. The 4" width will cover the rips and holes well and the 13" length should last quite a while. How handy to have a strong tarp repair tape when needed.
I got this product to put over the seams that I had sewn in pieces of the tarp which I had cut up in order to sew insulation -to make pads for a feral shelter I am building in my back yard. It works great - I am confident that the pieces are waterproof. I can easily see this product fixing tears in tarp- I got a new one for the pieces so I haven't had an opportunity to try it out yet. I am fussy about my feral shelter - and I am convinced that this is a quality product that will do the job.
This tape is a good size and does a good job repairing tears in my tarps.
A buddy of mine turned me on to this stuff and it has been a true game changer. I couldn't tell you how it works in relation to repairing tarps, as I've not used it there. I can tell you I have found at least 5 other uses for this product from plumbing repairs to using on my boat. This is an extremely strong and durable tape. I have full confidence in its ability to repair a tarp but don't limit yourself. It is super useful.
