Why Small Fly Hooks Become Difficult to See
The best magnifying glasses for seeing small fly hooks are not necessarily the strongest glasses. What matters most is how quickly you can access them, put them on with one hand and see the fly clearly while still holding your rod, leader and fly.
For fly fishing, magnifying glasses should be attached to your vest with a magnet or carried around your neck on a lanyard. When they are always within reach, changing a fly becomes faster and easier. This makes you more likely to change flies when conditions change instead of continuing to fish with the wrong pattern simply because getting out your glasses feels inconvenient.
